The Motability Scheme is designed to help disabled people and their families become mobile.
Anyone who is in Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (DLA) or War Pensioners Mobility Supplement (WPMS) can apply.
An application for a car can also be made on behalf of a child aged three or over who is entitled to the higher rate of DLA. And even if you don’t drive but receive the allowance you can apply for a car as a passenger and propose two other people as your drivers.
